I noticed that this had slipped out amongst the many other SW titles but without the fanfare/attention that the other films/series got so here's Patty Jenkins small "teaser" into her personal/family reasons for making this film which, due to the personal nature, should make this a film made with passion at least!

Very much interested. Enjoyed WW but WW2 will be very telling.

Like the OP said this seems to be a subject very close to her heart so it should show.

I agree, Rogue One was good and Solo was fairly entertaining if not earth shattering. I just hope Jenkins can kick on from Wonder Woman which was well made and entertaining if a tiny bit flat.

The problem with Solo for me was I just couldn't subscribe to him being a young Harrison Ford. Felt like a very expensive way to explain away the Kessel Run line from ANH. He was good and would have been better as a standalone story and new unique character.

Oh and SJW robot can do one, i'm not as easily triggered by SJW stuff as many on this sub forum but that one really did grate on me.

I wonder if that might be the real reason Lord & Miller got sacked as the original directors because their version of the robot was a parody, but I think KK didn't know that when she signed the directors and it was only 3/4's of the way through filming when she finally saw just how ridiculous that Robot was, and realised the directors were using it to laugh at her and her pro-SJW views so she sacked them for it?

I mean I know the "Official" reason is a difference between script writer and director but maybe not the only issue there!

I felt so bad for Domhall Gleeson. He is a genuinely talented actor who signed up for what was a dream gig and his character was a total joke. Ok in the first movie, but destroyed by stupid writing in the second and third. Not a villain at all. Moff Gideon is a much better villain because he appears competent and has a plan and is ruthless in his pursuit. Thrawn has been similar in the original Legends story and in subsequent canon. Vader wasn't a clown he was implacable and dangerous. The Sequel Trilogy plot/story is on every level in every way a shambles, each one a beautifully made turd. There will be courses written about them in film school about the failure of these movies artistically.

They were second rate compared to the original trilogy and only shined because Episodes 7, 8 and 9 were a steaming pile of wokeness starring The Ultimate Mary Sue and Diversity Quotatrooper. The most believable character was General Angryginger.
Genuine laugh at this :D

High bar set for space combat in Rotj I always loved that, rogue one's space combat was decent too. Hopefully this will be good

Agree, although I think Star Wars: A New Hope, was equally awesome given the limitations of special effects at the time. I remember watching and being haunted by Gold Leader etc, being picked off. :o

I don't think Lucas had to research too hard for inspiration, the Battle of the Bismarck (Fairy Swordfish pilots) by god they were so brave or the US pilots during the Battle of Midway.

New Hope was definitely good for its time but it's basically just a glorified dam buster raid scene, Jedi set the bar for actual dogfighting in space

It's just pure epic

The music from John Williams however makes it that much more epic, sadly we won't be getting a Williams score for this new film

@Minusorange I got to agree it is an epic scene, interspersed with the best lightsabre battle ever.

ROTJ gets kicked back due to the Ewok's (I was rooting for the Stormtroopers to squish the teddy bears) but the Jabba and Space sequence during the film are brilliant.

I thought Solo was better than the TLJ and RoS :/

Right now The Mandalorian is kinda saving the franchise.

I thought the robot still was a parody lol.
