Star Wars: The Sequel

Completely indifferent?

They will either be awful, mediocre or amazing. Either way I will probably watch them.

Part of me hopes if they do make them and that they will be awful. Just to see the epic nerd rage.
 
Episodes 4/5/6 were masterpieces that should have never been touched/altered/added to! I think that's the most popular opinion with anyone who remotely liked Star Wars. Anything else would just be :(
 
Assuming Lucas had nothing to do with it, vaguely half interested, some of the stuff that takes place after the films is quite interesting.

The Old Republic stuff from the Prequels was dreadfully boring and the only part of the Extended Star Wars universe that I've enjoyed was the Thrawn Trilogy, and they're not going to make a series about that. :(

Anyway, I don't think George would go further. I think he knows he messed up the prequels badly, and if he doesn't, he's insane. :D

George would be all over it and his computer animators would filling the screen up with all manner of 3D junk. :D At least it would be fun waiting for Mr. Plinkett's review though.

The point is, Lucas doesn't even have to try and make them meet the expectations of all the fans.

Kids will watch it in droves, as it will no doubt be shiny and full of things blowing up.

None-nerds will watch it as it will no doubt be shiny and full of things blowing up.

Nerds will watch it so they have an excuse to troll forums with their nerd rage. Plus most will secretly want to see the shiny things and explosions.

No need to make an effort really! Just let ILM do the work. ;)
 
I truely believe the only way we will have the OT returned to us in the fairly orignal form and the PT given an overhaul so it wouldn't be so rubbish would be when George Lucus dies.

I don't even mind most of the changes in the OT, just the first half of ep4 back to how it was (apart from the re-mastering to clean up the print)

I think this is one of the biggest myths regarding Starwars, everytime Lucas has been asked he says it was originally one big script but realising he couldnt fit the story into one movie he took a portion of the story and made New Hope, the rest he chopped into acts.
 
Id be pretty happy about it. I dont care how bad any of the films were, I'd still watch them as long as George Lucas was still at the creative helm.
 
As long as it follows the books I would be happy. As far I know the books where based on the scripts for 7/8/9

Although he should skip that and do some of the greet 3 book series. Jedi academy trilogy for example that would be amazing.

This would make sense tbh, thought even if its not Lucas, someone should get the rights and make them. The world is missing out on more of the Jedi story.

Although now, that we know Jedi's are just bunch of folks with blood disorder, a form of cosmic anemics, if you will, I gotta say - the appeal of next Force stories is just not as strong as it used to be...
 
Would love episodes 7,8 and 9 to be made as long as Lucas did not direct them! Lucas has a great imagination, but when it comes to directing...........

Some on the novels that followed on after Jedi where fantastic. But I doubt very much that Lucas would base his script around the them.
