Command an elite squad through a gritty and authentic story in Star Wars Zero Company™, a single-player turn-based tactics game developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games. Launching on PC, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S on August 27, 2026.

Just thought I'd post a thread for this as it's coming out in a couple of weeks, it's basically X-Com with a Star Wars skin set during the clone wars era, I can't wait! From some of the previews it doesn't sound quite as hard core as some aspects of X-Com, but still a lot of customization. missing shots at 95% and optional perma-death. Got to keep my expectations down as it is EA but fingers crossed they manage to pull it off.

So this is EA, not Ubisoft? I thought Ubisoft had the Star Wars licence?

Ignore, googled it.

Im such a huge fan of XCOM that even a preview calling it XCOM 2 with a star wars mod hasn't put me off.

I mean we all used to spend £2-3 on a magazine that reviewed games to work out whether we should drop £50 (which was a lot of cash back in the day) on a game and play the heck out of the demo disk it came with because no one could afford a library of 500 games to choose from.

Back in the day, if you had more than 4 or 5 games for your PS1 or N64 (or earlier consoles) by the end of the generation, you were considered a mega baller.

I love these types of games, even if its not great, I won;t be disapointed.
hopfully it sells well enough that other devs consider xcom style games

The xcom remakes and xcom 2 still held up really well even today, graphics might be a bit basic but you can tell they still put effort into it. kinda meh graphics but polished.
