Stargate (coming through Amazon)

It'll be a disaster whatever it is. Still...can't be worse than Origins.
Origins is that the one that looked like it was filmed by students, first year students at that, who didn't pass the first year.

On the plus side perhaps we will get Stargate 4k remastered versions on streaming at long last.

Yeah. The CGI was awful for its time and the story might as well have been written by clowns.

Think it started off as short web episodes and the first one was enough to put me off.

MGM just treat the franchise like dirt. I am out of the loop so I don’t know why there’s a new one in the works.

For some reason I watched its all the way though to the end it was painful. Not just the story and CGI but it had spinning cameras to transition from scene to scene the type of thing 16 year old film makers do for home videos. Everything about it was bad.

I only know the Stargate film and watched it a few times now. How does the numerous series hold up against the film? Are they all on Amazon Prime?

Stargate SG1 is grade-A cheesy 90s sci-fi show. Each episode (or 2-parter like the end of season cliffhangers) is a self contained, formulated story but the whole show has a string of interconnected story arcs to keep it all tied together.

It's a real labour of love from Richard Dean Anderson and it's honestly my favourite TV show of all time (probably because of my age as it was showing on TV).

Dare I say star SG: Universe was getting decent towards to end. I know it had its flaws and started rather slow but I did enjoy it more as it went on.
I'm inclined to agree, I enjoyed SGU all the way through but it really started to get into its stride towards the end. I ended up reading the graphic novel continuation to see what happened afterwards. Those were a good read if only a bit short.

I just checked Stargate on Wikipedia:

1994 - original film
1997 to 2007 - SG1
2004 to 2009 - Atlantis
2009 to 2011 - Universe
2018 - Origins (web series)
2002 - Infinity (animated series)
2008 - The Ark of Truth / Continuum (direct to video)

Have I missed anything off?

What does BSG stand for in the previous post? Battlestar Galaxica?
