Stargate (coming through Amazon)

McKay was a very good expansion on an existing character, DH really plays him well, and the episodes with his sister in, the chemistry with those pair is excellent...

Amazon should make all of the SG stuff available on Prime, and then, once they have seen how much call there is for it and how popular it is, then lets see what comes from that..
I would like to see an Atlantis arc or mini series where it goes back to Pegasus and we can start to expand on the 'Lost Ones' (never bought the whole Asgard dying thing), and perhaps see who out of the SGU cast would want to come back and maybe work out a way to do something with that as well, SG1, well, as much as it was the series to kick off the TV runs, I'm not sure where else they can go with it, there's always been talk of making the Stargate Program public knowledge, but not sure how much of a series that would actually make, the Goa'uld are pretty much done, Anubis, Replicators, how many other SG1 bad guys are there out and about still? At least with Atlantis the Wraith are still around and Universe still had something to go from...

Another show living on via rose tinted glasses rather than actual merit - it's not very good but has some charm within it's performances and characters. It's 'ok' but not deserving of it's pedestal many fans place it on.
 
SG1 and Atlantis are in my top 5 TV shows of all time. Been going through them all again with our 12 year old and its kept him interested each week for over a year. On s10 of SG1 and 3 of Atlantis and even thought he has autism the characters and stories have kept his interest. It's timeless and could easily find a new audience if they do this new series justice.

I have mixed feelings on this, there is a brilliance to it with the premise, characters and the dynamics between them and so on even though the execution and/or story lines at times is painful. It is a show which if I could wipe my memory of it would pull me in every time even though in the end some of it really isn't that great.

I'd be straight there for a well written new series.
 
For years I was irrationally prejudiced against Stargate SG-1 because it starred the lead actor in the famously ludicrous MacGyver series, and hence I formed an assumption that this must also be a show where aliens would be routinely defeated by various duct tape/glue/washing up liquid based armaments, and therefore never gave it a chance. I am going about correcting this now.

I'm pretty sure there are a few episodes of SG1 where they mock RDA for MacGyver. The only one that springs immediately to mind is the one where Jack and Sam are stuck on the 'Ice Planet' in a cave
that turns out to be a second gate on earth. and Sam asks Jack to MacGyver a nuclear reactor from some chewing gum and a belt buckle :cry:

*Edit* Just checked via youtube... turns out the one im thinking of was an outtake/blooper from that episode. The only actual MacGyver Reference was from the very first SG1 Episode where Sam is geeking out over the DHD on ABydos
