Starlink - anyone using it?

Are people still happy with starlink??

I've just purchased a house in Spain but its in a small village and the internet options aren't great.

I considered an unlimited data sim and a 5g router but wondering if starlink will be a better option? It appears to be cheaper in Spain that the UK. I can get the basic package for 29 euro a month which should cover my needs over there.

Yeah. The ambiguous morality aside:p. Absolutely no complaints here. I'll be stopping my contract in favour of fibre when I move to a new property in a couple of months time. However it continues to serve me well in my current situation and have been happy with the service over the past year or so.

How much do you pay? I pay £75 a month. Had it installed in Oct 24.

I'm guessing the speed should be the same pretty much anywhere in the World being satellite based...

Looks like if I took a contract in the UK it would be £75 a month but if I take one in Spain it will cost me 29 euro a month which is about a third of the UK costs. I don't quite know why??

Not sure if it's the same elsewhere but Starlink have a deal on where you can get the newer Gen 3 hardware for free if you subscribe for 12 months. I've been on a rolling contract since this time last year and figured it made sense to take advantage. I think the main benefits are on the router side which is irrelevant for me as i use a Unifi Dream Machine, but being able to use a normal RJ45 cable is nice and also the fact the router has network ports for bypass mode without having an additional device is the main reason for me to switch.

Add in that it then also comes with an extra 12 month warranty and i might be able to sell my Gen 2 hardware means it's a win win.
