Start menu not opening

Also had this happen a lot on Windows 10, it seemed to happen more for me if I alt-tab out of games would trigger it.

In the end after a lot of try and error I give in and installed Start10
A better start menu anyways with a lot of customization.

So would you suggest not installing Samsung Magician whatsoever in that case?

It has some useful features but I had to stop the UI starting with Windows or randomly it would stop games going into fullscreen properly.

Some of the optimisation options depending on configuration can actually cause slowdowns or issues especially as Windows 8 and 10 now include better SSD optimisations as default.

This happened to me last week, i dont run samsung magician cause i had problems with it in the past, but i couldnt find what caused the problem for me, i formatted and reinstalled everything and its been working fine since, maybe it was a virus that the antivirus software wasnt finding i dunno. Its so fast reinstalling nowadays with SSDs and fibre net i dont mind a quick reinstall every now and again, i forgot to backup GTA though and that took many hours to install, the 65gb download doesnt take long but the veifying takes forever.

The original problem where it did not open has fixed but my start menu lags and takes a few seconds to open rather than open straight away now.

Hmm what would cause something like this, is your GPU old? Have you checked all cables maybe one got loose during installation of your SSD.

They're all updated and Windows is updated. Windows update doesn't show any available updates and I've downloaded all the available drivers from Gigabyte website for my motherboard. Unless there's something else I need to do?

I really couldn't say, why would the start menu lag if you just done a clean install.

Could it be something to do with shutting down a full screen game then opening start? I just did it to test if it would even open. It did. But not "smoothly" or instant. Is all I can describe it as.

I just ran a couple games on fullscreen to see if it might cause the start menu to lag like yours but as I expected nothing. I hope you are not mistaking the animation of the start menu popping up as delay.

Guys this issue is widely spread on Windows 10 just Google windows 10 start menu stopped working or not opening..

They is countless thread people giving advice, nothing worked for me apart from installing Start 10.

Not everyone is also effected it would seem, it's very random issues and even I couldn't get it to happen all the time but when it did. All menu would stop opening and even windows 10 application wouldn't open.
Only a system restart would fix it till it randomly happened again.
