There are several PC's i've seen now with a really weird error.
With the full style start menu in Win XP Pro (SP2+) where if the user clicks start > run it comes up with a popup that says...
"Windows cannot create a shortcut here. Would you like to create a shortcut on the desktop instead?" Y/N
If you click No, it closes... if you click yes, it creates a desktop shortcut called "&Run"
If I change the start menu to "Classic" (like <win2k) then the Run button works fine. Changing it back to Full menu, and the error continues.
I have tried rolling the system back by a month... tried removing SP3, testing it then, installing a patch that microsoft say fixes this problem (from 2006), then reinstalling SP3... no change.
Any ideas, anyone?
