I was just walking in town and happened to see the notice. They must have been fairly desperate as the manager asked me to fill out the application there and then. He called me within the next hour and I had an interview (I use this word very loosely) and he offered me a job starting tomorrow. The only thing that's a little bit annoying is that they don't pay for training which last for three days. :o

For those who don't know: Quiznos is the cheaper equivalent of Subway.

I take it your in America? cos I only saw them there. Their adverts with the little baby are as freaky as hell and their subs look like a heart-attack in a box :/

hmm, cant see how they can not pay you for three days work.

seems pretty cheap and does not bode well for any staff if they are that miserly...

Three days training? To make sandwiches?

Forgot not getting paid for 3 days training. You are being employed, it's an investment in yourself for you to be able to do your job. It sounds like a part time job so call them and explain you aren't prepared to work for nothing for 3 days and will seek alternative employment if they don't pay you at your normal rate.

Plenty more part time jobs out there so don't sell yourself short. What a cheek, no wonder they are short staffed.

My thoughts exactly, if it was a good job, it might be worth doing the training for free. But for a fast food place

There aren't too many options at the moment, so I'd better just grit my teeth and get these first three days out of the way. I have to admit, it's very disappointed and does put me in a negative frame of mind. As long as it means having a job at the end, who am I to be giving orders?

theyl sack you after three days an put the advert back up

then someone else will do exactly the same as what you did today .

/repeat

most places i know off (call centres etc)say that your not paid for the training straight away but theyl pay you if your sacked or after so many months of service

Have some pride and self worth. Do you want to work for 3 days unpaid in a fast food place where the chances are you won't enjoy it anyway? Thought not, at least call them and give them the option to pay you or loose you. What they are asking is unreasonable and pretty dam cheeky.

It's hardly like I'm going to be a productive member of staff for the first few days. Other staff will be helping me out, so initially I'd be more of a burden than anything else.

I think it's unreasonable for me to make demands like that after I accepted the conditions. I'll really think about it though.
