Started playing through HL2 again.

I was going to get Ep1 for Christmas, but have decided to wait till Ep2 comes out so I can play them as one long game :)

Quoted for "good ideaery" ;)

I was about to suggest the same.

Ep1 is pretty short and another problem I had with it was that it caused much more motion sickness than the original HL2. Not sure why (thought it might be lower framerates but seemingly not).

I guess that probably doesn't really apply to most people though :)

I started this again myself a few weeks back after completing it in the past... but...

I screwed it up. The section where you use the grav guns to blow out all 3 cores in the building.. I saw the room with red lazers, having forgot, thinking.. yeah im smart ill throw a table into the room and blow them up..

the table set off the alarms and the room (which i needed to get through) slammed shut. and i didnt think much of it.

so i blew 2 cores out, and it auto saved etc, but i couldnt get back into the room for core 3

last save file was about 2 hours back :(

I'v had HL2 since the day of its release and I still haven't completed it :(

I can't seem to play for over an hour or so, I don't feel too well

I can however do 10 hours on CSS without any problems :\

HL2 rocks hard. Might have to play it again myself - same as OP - not played it since launch :)

I really wish I could play it again, but every time I go to load it up I remember all the annoying first section I have to sit through, then the bloody hover boat section.... only starts getting interesting when you get to Ravenholm.

It is fine first time through, but it is so boring second/third/fourth time :(

same story here lost my save fiile when i first got it

cant seem to bring myself to even get back to where i was when i first played it

it had the feeling that it was something new when it first came out but time has proved it was not the classic the first one was

hard to pinpoint why it just wasnt as good a story i thought

wasnt the first one written by a fiction novel author or something

You made me start it again after reading the thread earlier. :)
Easy to forget just how good this game is and i know the best bits are still to come. I am going to take my time though and Savour every last minute.

sv_unlocked chapters 15 ;)

increase the point of view to max if you are having any headaches/motion sickness problems. doesnt fix it but makes it a lot better. but its only going to get worse as games get more graphically accurate.

its still one of the best games out there! have played ep1 and it was ok... but for me nothing beats nova prospekt! awesome as was the assault on city17! overall not pc gamer should be allowed to miss out on this experience it roks!

just playing through the rock24 singleplayer episode and i have to say it very well produced! hats off to the guys who made it!
