Starting a new job soon choice of 13"/14" Dell or Lenovo Laptop!! Help!

Hi Guys

I use both and find the Lenovo's more business like but Dell do a nice range with metal casing etc..

I can pick what I like but as I'll be moving around a fair bit and on trains into London I want something powerful but portable, happy to dock and use an external screen and keyboard and mouse when in the office....

So what's peoples recommendations?

When I was looking at laptops not so long ago I found that Dell was more 'overpriced' compared to other brands. In the end I settled on a Asus.

Anyhow out of them two I would pick Lenvos. :)
 
I'd personally go for the Latitude E6420 with the 1600 x 900 screen (it's only £33 more than the standard resolution). According to the Dell site it comes with a single 4GB module, so you can easily upgrade it to 8GB without paying Dell's upgrade premium.

I must admit, I am quite strongly biased towards the Latitudes - I've had a D820, D830, E6400 and now an E6520.
 
We like Dell Precisions at my company and most get bought with 1920 x 1200 screens (on 15" laptops). We usually buy the M4500s and get an extra 4 GB of aftermarket RAM to push the machines up to 8 GB. We always get Next Business Day warranty, which is excellent. :)
 
Just took delivery of a 6420 with i7, 8gb memory and upgraded screen. Very nice piece of kit, got it without SSD which I'm now thinking I should have got but overall its like lightning compared to my D620 I've binned. Can really fire those emails and word documents off a lot quicker now...... :D
 
Nice choice there guys

Must be strong and keep the weight and screen size down or I'll regret it and so will my shoulder :)
