Starting over from scratch but case determines everything

Morning all,
I feel like a complete newbie to building a PC, even though I’m not.
Current situation; a very old PC put together by me in about 2014. Midi Tower - Coolermaster.
Requirement; build new but with a case which will fit on a particular space on my desk.
Everything is going to have to be sourced; case, PSU, mobo, CPU, RAM - the only things I can re-use are storage drives (NVME and 3.5 HDD).
Reading through other threads, there seems to be a lot of love for Jonsbo cases and both the Z20 and D32 would fit my available space, with the Z20s smaller profile being slightly preferred.
That’s it really.
I don’t game and probably won’t be putting a separate GPU in - at least not anything substantial.
I’m not too fussed about micro ATX v ITX and have no real preference AMD v Intel.
Any thoughts as to whether I’m on the right track with the above cases or at about the same sizes, are there others you’d suggest?
Thanks. I really am starting from scratch here and any help will be much appreciated.

What about Lian Li A3?

All new AM5 and Intel CPUs have integrated graphics (except -F or -KF models).

Though, if you're not wanting a graphics card, you could get an even smaller PC like a NUC.

Thanks for this.
I’ll have a look at the case you suggest.
Re NUC. Although not mentioned in my original post, this is something I’ve been quietly looking at too.
I guess that a NUC isn’t top of my list because ideally I’d like to be able to incorporate a single 3.5” into the build and the only way of doing that with a NUC would either be a caddy or NAS.

If going more “mainstream”, M-ATX motherboard is a wise choice, as you may be able to change cases later without limitations, and not be restricted to full ATX cases. Some pretty compact M-ATX cases, but even if eventually you get a big GPU, Lian Li A3 is a cheap upgrade from a small case.
ITX is at a premium, and unless “needed”, is a pass.
