Looking for a bit of advice on starting out with Philips Hue

Atm just looking to do one room before moving on to the next but what do I need and do the starter packs include everything I’d want to get started?

What’s the differences between the different bridges ?

Looking at this as a starter or are there better options ?

Going down the same road myself.

Do you really need colour? If not, then the bulbs are a lot cheaper.. I know some people that went with colour and rarely use colours....
I like the bulbs where you can dial the colour temp, they are a bit more expensive than the plain jane 'personal' bulbs but it is useful.

Ikea do a range of bulbs that are fully compatible with Hue, cheaper but are edison screw.
Offer on Amazon atm for 3 for the price of 2 on a lot of hue bulbs, so options to get 3 or 6 bulbs (single or twin pack x3).

Think about how you want it to work. Will a remote be enough or do you want the app? Are you after programability? Will you want to mix systems (fibrano etc)?

Agree with the above, I have about 6 coloured bulbs and the rest are now white after I realised I never use the other colours apart from in the kids rooms when they ask, and even then it's rare.

£160 poorer but I have a 3 bulb colour starter kit, already looking at changing the light fitting in our bedroom as it uses G9s

or can anyone point out some G9 hue compatible bulbs?

Going to sound like I've been living under a rock here but what do they do that a plain old dimmer switch doesn't do (aside from coloured lighting that is)?
