startup issue - win 7/s939

hi guys i have an issue with starting my pc up - once the bios is set etc it works perfectly.

however the bios resets itself meaning a bios error and windows 7 won't load with all the features like internet etc.

why is this?

is it a case of resetting the bios by changing the jumper or taking the battery out?

is the bios loading defaults or is it just losing a couple of settings that you set? could be a flakey battery, £1.50 for a new one from any supermarket, see if that cures this issue.

i was thinking it could be a duff battery just not holding settings as it seems fine if i restart the computer - holds it all. the pc is about 4 years old i think. maybe older.... when s939 were pretty new.

sorry... loses the time every time. resets to 1995.

get a battery.

Id does sound like a new battery needed, same was happening to my mums pc. - Normally CR2032!

all sorted so cheers guys. first time i've ever had that as an original pentium bios still works after nigh on 15 years lol
