Starwars gaming in 2021 looks bleek

Yeah squadrons was good fun single player but too darn short and multiplayer is totally super serious boring

BFII was good, they could have very easily just kept making content to keep it going

Fallen order was excellent can't wait for sequel in fact going to have to play it again I think!

Their 10 year licence is nearly up isnt it? Maybe there in negotiations to extend it tho id prefer if a single studio got it not a big publisher like ea got it then they can have a maybe rpgs or strat games with sw instead of bf or the likes from ea would do. Tho if microsoft got it they could let obsidion do kotor 3 maybe.

What we need is a massive open world Star Wars game where you can choose your own path, no matter what it is, and the entire galaxy is available for exploration and exploitation.

I found Fallen Order a huge disappointment, if I want to play a Tomb Raider style exploration game, well, i'll play Tomb Raider.

I'm aching for a new KOTOR style RPG if i'm honest.

And if I want to play an RPG style game then I'll play an RPG style game?

Fallen Order was a good game , not exceptional as it had its flaws with layouts etc. I guess nobody is allowed to create a third person game where you explore without it being "Tomb Raider" and I guess if it involves vehicles then it will be "GTA".

Why so defensive? I never said it was a bad game, I said it was a disappointment. It opened strong but descended into dull, boring, platforming/parkour sim.

The game felt like 80% exploring, 10% watching cut scenes, 10% actual doing some Jedi related things. That's not how it was marketed and as such, was disappointing.

I will give it credit that it looked great.

I don't think my post was defensive or at least it wasn't meant to be.
I get that you want more RPG elements in a star wars game but fallen order was never going to be that game. (tomb raider + lightsaber isn't exactly a bad combination anyway?)
I thought it was a nice looking fun singleplayer game and I hope they build on it. I honestly thought it was marketed as a more cinematic experience from the start to be honest.

I think I see the error here and it's my fault, you've conflated my RPG comment with the tomb raider comment, they were meant as two separate statements.

I never expected Fallen Order to be an RPG, I just expected a lot more action, less platforming. The trailers I saw leaned heavily towards action and didn't get that and left me disappointed.

My comment about KOTOR was just wishful thinking of getting a new high quality star wars RPG at some point, nothing to do with Fallen Order.
