Sat don at my laptop, touched the touchpad and I got that static shock you get, and heard a quiet pop that you usually get with static... and now it doesn't work. Well, it kind of does, I can double tap with it, but trying to move the mouse around isn't possible. After some experimenting, I think it seems to believe that it now has a constant press where I zapped it, so any other touches are 'multitouch' and do things like zooming web pages in, without letting me move the cursor.
Is my theory regarding this correct, and is there any chance of fixing it myself? Its less than a year old, so I should be able to get it fixd under warranty, though I'll miss it while its gone...
