Does anybody know if your employer continues to pay your national insurance contributions whilst on the sick? Maybe it' just me but it's a surprisingly simple question I have been unable to find an answer to. Thanks.

I thought SSP had no Ni contribution.
Sick pay might, but SSP isn't at a level to attract it, is it?

Sick pay, including statutory sick pay, counts as income so income tax and nic will be deducted from it if you cross the thresholds.

Yes, you get NI credits if you are claiming SSP.
