Stay at current place or leave for new pastures

I've made this mistake before.

I moved to a much higher wage at a new place only to get made redundant 3 months later. As I was so new, I barely got anything and was suddenly out of work.

There are always risks when moving job. Also remember that if you have been at a place less than 2 years it's much easier for them to get rid of you, as you arent covered by all of the workers rights.

TBH, it depends on the type of person you are. With an expanding family, I would be less inclined to take a risk. Rather the devil you know than the one you don't. But, no risk no gain.
