I've got a Tesco 'slow cooked' shortcrust Steak pie I fancy eating. It's use by date was 3rd July, 8 days ago. Pastry smells fine. Ok to cook and eat or will I be evacuating through the eye of a needle?
I'm not known for being overly bothered by use by dates but 8 days on something that's covered in sauce so you won't be able to easily tell if its turned would be a little too long even for me.
Hmm, yeah. Thanks, I'll bin it then. It's not that I don't want to buy another, but it was just easy to stick in the oven while I'm doing stuff at home and can't be bothered to go shopping at the moment.
I've gone for the healthier option. Stuck a baking potato in the oven and having tuna, sweetcorn, mayonnaise topping.
Yeah. I think anything over 3-5 days past and you're in the danger zone. As someone who's had food poisoning a couple of times (neither my fault!), it's just not worth it
Yep, I've had a couple of these pies, and they're delish! In a way I'm glad I didn't eat it. I've started a mini diet and pies are really something to avoid, hence why I left it in the fridge so long.
