Is it considered stealing if you pick up a watch that doesn't belong to you at the gym, after the owner had long since left as they'd forgotten about it?

Finders keepers:D

Although i dont think its as bad as stealing, as u didnt intentially take it from the person. I perfect human should hand it in. Im far from perfect. :D

Up to a point, finding £1 on the pavement would be finders Keepers. Finding a Purse with £100 in wouldn't be finders keepers.

as for the watch, i am sure if the owner wouldn't mind to have it back.

Stealing - finding money etc. is different but a watch is personal and often sentimental. Hand it in.

stealing, especially as it could be easily returned (give to club, owner willask club etc)

i think its slightly different to when u find a dive computer or somthing in the middle of the ocean at the bottom, impossible to find out whose it is.

but at the end of the day, u should return it :D

It's not yours is it ? Someone somewhere will be missing it.
Hand it in. You may get seen wearing it and who knows where that could lead.
it's stealing at the end of the day, what if the tables were turned, wouldnt you like to think someone would hand your watch etc in ?

I'd go down the hand it in route tbh, if it was you that had lost a watch you would want someone to do the same rather than just keep it for themselves.

But where do you draw the line?!

It was actually me who had it stolen from, I wasn't sure if it could be reported to the police as stealing or not. There's hope that the gym CCTV has picked something up and maybe I could claim back on house insurance if I can't get it back.

The watch:

I'd probably hand something like that back in to the gym - although I can see why others would have taken it.

Gutted :(
