Steam account hacked

You've probably got something on your pc (or someone else has if you've logged on there) no way they could brute forces a large random password without dieing of old age.

pc was clean and checked with numerous things. dont login on no one elses pc with my account.doesnt matter now as have it back but not all steam acounts stolen are from silly links given to them .

tbh why could steam not make the fact that you can lock your account to one email a must do to use steam, I know it then emails your account to verify the changes, since many people pour so much money in why is this not required to use steam

It's there as an option for people who want it.

You ignored the 2-3 warning saying "don't do this" with two of them immediately before you filled in your details steam could do nothing more.

so what is the message that keeps getting sent?

well if my account is VAC banned then it has been "hacked" in some form

What is the message? It's a link to a phishing site, not a hack.

If your account is VAC banned it'll be because they used cheats on it.

You didn't get hacked, your account didn't hacked. You gave it away through greed and stupidity. 'You can't con an honest man'

"You are going to a non steam site DO NOT enter any account details."

never seen it do that word for word, but it does give a warning about phishing, or a security risk to the system.

but yeah it should give this warning

when a link is given i I think it should say this"DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR STEAM ACCOUNT DETAILS" feel free to quote me and put muppet at the end ;p or whatever you see fit

and no its not actually hacked, as it don't involve guess passwords as you the user was dim enough to give them it.

it's not word for word no i couldn't remember it :p

But it does say if you're going to a steam site or another site.

more like begging for a decent game, as a student Free is often tempting

I have to ask, what exactly are you studying and where? Because neither of those answers are likely to be impressive if you're that stupid.

Theres a reason the saying goes "If it seems good to be true, it is". No 'free' offer is tempting because in this e-world, free = strings attached.

creative and media higher diploma, just paying for photoshop has drained funds so much and now this **** from you people, just give some good advice instead or reminding me about the stupidity of this

Why the hell would I put this here If I thought I would get this from you, so helpful usually

Advice?

Raise a ticket with Steam, its all you can do.
Try and find any record of purchases that relate to your account so that they can verify thats its yours

Honestly though, what do you expect people to say? Well done?

Check VAC bans

Valve has a hard line approach to VAC bans - so if whoever has access to your account get's it banned then it banned.

If you've submitted a ticket with all the required information you should get your account back within a couple of days. Next time make sure to set up email verification on the account, and don't use the same password for your email and steam accounts. ;)

Wait, you paid for photoshop? a) who pays for stuff like that when they're a student and b) doesn't the uni generally give you copies of that if you require it for your degree?

You've been given all the advice there is, all thats left is your own stupidity. Google search could've told you *everything* there is left to know. Hell so would a steam forum search.
