Steam...Again.."The registry is in use by another process..."

I've looked at the support kb, I don't have any of those programs listed, just re-installed Windows so very little actually on here at the moment. Cannot find a working solution online..

What are you doing when you get that message? Launching steam or trying to launch a game?

make sure that another user is not logged on and it's open on their account rather than yours!

When trying to launch steam. Processes:

have deleted clientregistry.blob as well.

Try downloading the steam client and install it to a different location and see if it launches.

Doesn't even launch now. Loads the process into memory and does nothing.

have you installed any new programs, apps, or addons in windows at all recently?

have u tried killing the msiexec process and trying again ?
could also try killing rundll32

im guessing you have tried the obvious...right clicking and running as admin.

And yes Amnesia. Installing to a different directory worked fine :/.
