Steam Cloud Sync

I've been playing Dead Island for a few months now and over the last 2-3 months, Steam has developed an issue with syncing my saves to the cloud.

When I run the game, it prompts me to either:
1 - Download from cloud to PC
2 - Upload from PC to Cloud

9/10, the local files are newer, so obviously, I want to upload these, but when selecting this option, it says it's failed to sync, play now or cancel.

I've not really thought much about it untill one day when I was about to continue single player after a co-op match, it put me right where we left the co-op game, not my own :confused:

The file integrity check has been completed and it didn't need to fetch any missing files, kinda stumped!!

Has anyone else has this issue?

Had this issue a few times now on various games, and in some cases losing progress.

I did see in the latest update to Steam it mentioned an issue with Steam Cloud being fixed so will be interesting to see if that helps in the future.

When was that released? Mine was updated yesterdaym, haven't had a chance to check yet.

I have had this a lot recently with skyrim. Haven't found a fix yet though

It's so so frustraiting to say the least. Luckily, I'd pretty much completed it but, still had some to do.

I had this afew days ago and lost about 25 minutes in Hitman, so I had to replay a good few sections and I certainly didn't sneak about, I shot the place to ****e to get through as it was rather annoying!

Yeah it should be fixed. When windows 7 shuts down it basically tells all the other programs "time to die boys" and Steam would usually say "wait a sec - I have to do this" (and it would then upload the sync files) except windows didn't always give it enough time and a lot of the time, steam would fail to upload too so it was a bit of a mess.

My favourite moment was when it recently started saying "last updated - tomorrow" to some sync clashes. OK steam, whatever man. The workaround is to exit steam before shutting down windows which should gracefully allow it to sync.

I have encountered that issue but it somehow vanished :p now i have a new one where Steam keeps re-applying the same patches to some games no idea how to fix it.

I've purposly waited for a good 20-30 mins after finishing the game in the hope it would sync, but nothing!!! Still lost progress.

I get this everytime I launch MW3 and it's only MW3, no other game!!! Did you try the 'file validation' to see if this fixed it? I keep forgetting to run it once I've closed the game.

Was that the one where it was constantly applying the October Sims 3 DLC patch? In the end I just re-installed steam as I was sick of installing that patch everyday.
