i like the feel of it in my hand almost feels like its resting there instead of me actually gripping it. havent tried it with a game yet but so far the hardware is nice. Oh and i really like the exploded diagram of the controller on the outer packaging, its a small thing that has no bearing on the controller itself but i think its cool

Does seem difficult to get the hang of. Played some borderlands, it feels more accurate than an xbox controller, but you really have to concentrate on the aiming. Almost feels overwhelming at the moment.

Having to set the controller up is a pain, after getting used to games being setup for the xbox pad. But I am sure in a few days there will be lots of profiles ready to go. I do not think console gamers will get on with the level of customisation here.

Yep, its mainly just having used the dual joystick set up for so long, think the last time I felt like this using a controller is when the dual shock controllers first came out, the joysticks were barely used now they are the standard config.

Most games the controller is much nicer to use due to how you can map the controls so much which also means like you say its a pain to set up at first since we are among the first in the world to be using these controllers.

Now mmos, this is a huge pain to set up for, not for raiding or dungeon content use is what i am aiming for but for casual gameplay like questing and such.

Using the right track pad as a mouse to me is loads better with the 1:1 movement and personally speaking tracks a lot better then a laptop track pad, it actually works.

Anyone else keeping accidently pressing the bottom triggers did it a few times during rocket league which was annoying because it toggles the camera to the ball. Going to have to try a few more games to get a real feel though. Ohh and dunno why but I wish the abxy buttons where a little bigger.

Small update.

It is definitely better than a 360 controller for a fps. I can imagine some people getting very good at using this.

Also in most games you do not need to use the abxy buttons at all, so there location is not a problem.

I must admit I hated it at first, but I am getting into it now. If you had 10 minutes with it at a games show you would walk away thinking wtf.

There are loads of custom profiles for each game already, so if you do not have the time or patience, you can just jump straight in now using other people configurations.

An other great feature is that you can use it to control your mouse on the desktop. I have my pc connected downstairs via a 15m hdmi cable, and the control pad works fine downstairs with the receiver connected to my pc upstairs.

I've just seen Paul's Hardware's video on the Steam Controller and needless to say I am not taken away by it.

I'm interested in what it is like for racing games as that's my primary use, so please keep me updated TwsT.
