Guys just to confirm is my steam id the account name?

In the connection log it shows SetSteamID( [U:1:8104309] )

I thought your ID was the name under 'Account name'? File -> Settings, the top option. Is this correct? I'd really hate to gift randomers your games, mainly cos I'd be held liable...

Edit: Where the hell are the free game gift options? I've never given anyone a game before, and all I see in my games window is Borderlands under 'not currently installed' - how do I send these out?

Edit 2: Never mind, I've found the gifts. I'm sending one to nickboyd, one to theasgard (where do I know that name from?) and stooeh, check your file -> settings and tell me te bolded name that sits at the top of the window.

Edit 3: The gift system makes me email the games out first of all, I'm assuming all your Steam accounts are tied to the emails you've mailed me from? This is needlessly complicated - email me the addresses that are tied to your steam accounts - I think I have stooeh's (godkill?)

Thats right - I had given you my public profile name earlier.

Ok, easy way to do it - I think I've just added you all as friends on Steam. Log in and confirm, I'll send you the game. You're the only people on my friends list, so it's easy to tell.
 
Ok, all sorted. Gift virginity given and recieved. Shooeh, added you as a friend, message me with something I'll recognise and I'll gift you either tomorrow morning or tomorrow evening, depending on when you send it. Til then, I'm sleeping. Night, and thanks guys

Yes that the right one(including the .com bit) for me but I do not have any friend invites showing at them moment :eek: (Possibly you added Shooeh instead of me unless that was a mere typo :D)

Sorry mate, I addded 'Stooeh' instead of '[VG] Stooeh.gck' - silly me :D

Day before yesterday I was having problems adding friends and accepting friend request of person trying to gift me L4D2. Giving him my Steam-associated email worked though - I opened the email while I was running Steam and clicked on the gift. Clicking on it sent the gift to my Steam account.

Just a tip if you're having probs.
