steam game opening and putting monitor to no signal input

hi, im new to steam, just downloaded demo of batman, opening it and it puts monitor to no signal input.

how can i fix this

ok out of range, but how the hell can i sort it.

every other game i play is fine

Its probably gonna be the same as what Aion did to mine (I am stuck with the living room LCD until end of this month) automatically selecting a resolution my LCD don't support.

I got a mate to send me a copy of his .cfg file with a lower res, it still resets it though after every patch and turns the music back on (alas ignoring my settings) - annoying.

help would have solved the problem.
thorpedouk telling me Aion done it to him and then saying his mate sent him a copy of his .cfg file is useful knowledge.

but it doesnt help me at this very moment.

so you telling me "dont be too grateful for the free help" isnt much help either

so anyone with advice please help

You need to go to to properties/set launch options and enter a res the monitor supports.

-w 1360-h 765 for example

Or set it to windowed maybe -windowed or -sw

Pretty shocked at some replies?

uh just did a quick google search and someone posted this in another forum

For manual editing of resolution, go to:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\Eidos\Batman Arkham Asylum Demo\BmGame\Config

And edit "UserEngine.ini" file. Don't know if it works though, I just found this resolution files digging through some folders...

I guess if that aint the right, im sure there are some other ones you can look through. Also saying that, that is the demo directory, but im sure the proper game aint far from there.

this is first time to use steam so wouldnt have known where to go.
