Steam games going missing?

So it's "autistic" to keep an eye on your games library to make sure products that you have paid for aren't being removed with no mention? Yeah, no.

IIRC one of the legal bugbears with Steam is that you only 'rent' the game from them, Steam is technically a subscription service.

This also explains how they VAC ban for cheating, its all in the EULA! I had a quick read through and they keep referring to the actual transactions as subs

As a Subscriber you may obtain access to certain services, software and content available to Subscribers. The Steam client software and any other software, content, and updates you download or access via Steam, including but not limited to Valve or third-party video games and in-game content, and any virtual items you trade, sell or purchase in a Steam Subscription Marketplace are referred to in this Agreement as “Software”; the rights to access and/or use any services, Software and/or content accessible through Steam are referred to in this Agreement as "Subscriptions."

using date names would probably be better to keep track like 100714.txt

Yeah don't forget Betas, F2P games and Mac versions they can switch about a bit. I notice my library seems to grow and shrink :p 783 atm X.x

My profile says I have 956 games but my library tab in steam says I have 902, think the difference is because the profile counts the DLC's as extra games.

Was wondering of if you lose those DLC extras if a game of the year edition gets released as they are all lumped together.

Strange my Steam sig on the other hand says I have 892 games

EDIT : Hmmmmmm, never mind. Seems to be fixed now. Maybe it was just my rig as they have all corrected themselves now.

Yep, Steam is broken atm.

Any games installed on a drive that is not the same drive as the Steam install directory are broken.

Remember when Steam made it possible to choose your install location instead of the same 'Steam apps' folder in the same folder?

That feature is broken.

All my games that are installed on a different HDD to the main Steam install directory are greyed out in the games library and it says 'Install' instead of 'Play'.

The files and folders are still in the correct locations, they have not been deleted. Only Steam cant 'see' them.

Await a Steam update, and soon I hope!
