Steam has stealth DRM on uninstall nowadays

I think Valve have introduced some form of encryption DRM on the files every single time now it wants to check every single file & the Library linking is obviously another form of Stealth DRM

But some people think as its Valve & as its Steam thats still ok :p

Maybe this is more to do with the fact Steam now allows extra libraries on different drives so has to scan on removal to find if you have other libraries created?

It's likely noticed that you moved the games to another drive/partition, then when you have removed it it's wiped them too. Surely Steam has to know where the games are to let you play them? Is that not an obvious thing?

is it was on another "PARTITION" why or even would Steam include that when its another Steam install)
Doesn't matter what partition they are on, what matters is you told Steam where the games were, and then you told it to uninstall every thing.
And it doesn't matter which "Steam install", they came from, they are just game files and Steam executes them, they are not tied down to any particular install.
Next time, simply remove that folder from your library and you won't have a problem.

I like these wild speculation threads. Let's summarise, if Steam have introduced a stealth DRM and some form of secret encryption, then they're obviously trying to secure their client. Why would they do this now I hear you ask? .... HL3.

Other than copy and paste there are 'steam mover tools' to move your games and create links to their new location.

That said I'm pretty sure Steam doesn't mind games spread over multiple HDDs anymore, so copy and paste should be easier.
