Steam loading really slow?

Anyone else get this lately? I start steam and it opens as 2 panels one for news and one for the program itself, though they normally stay as just outlines for a while before changing into solid black boxes, and then a few mins later the actual content loads in and its usable. :confused:

Been that way for a few weeks now.

I installed Steam a couple of weeks ago and mine does that too. I was starting to wonder if it was what it always did...

Ever since the new steam came out it wont even open on either my Laptop running W7 or my PC running Windows Vista.

The new version does load slower , I think the old version looked better !!

Mine has completely stopped workin. Got a message about it being unable to load platform modules. Deleted some .dll files to see if i could get it to update but now it updates to 99% and stops. Must get round to fixing it.

I got that last week. Ended up reinstalling it again.

it's crashed on me a few times since the update but hasn't rendered itself useless for minutes on end...
