Steam needs to sort out their interface

Learn to read, the OP quite clearly said in numerous posts that speed is not the problem. I agree to some extent that it should say amount downloaded out of total, but the way it works at the moment is fine for me and never had a problem with it.

He said:

"I've spent about 20hrs downloading Titan Quest at ~40kbps..."

So if 40kbps isn't what you would consider slow, I would hate to be on your internet connection :p

*EDIT*

To clarify, I just find it kind of funny that download at 40KB and then 20 hours later the thing has problems. I would be so furious so I guess I know because of that I find it humerous for some reason.

Truthfully the Steam UI is a little sparse. This hasn't ever affected me though as i've never had a problem with it. When i download a game, i make sure i'm doing it at a time when i'm not sitting at my PC waiting for it to finish ( ie sleeping or out for the day).

No doubt if ever i suffer from an issue though, i'd require a little more information than steam provides. As mentioned though, there are options in the menus for it.

Steam is pretty nice overall. But I do think on occasion it feels a little clunky. On the other hand, compared to what it was like when it was first launched all those years ago it is astounding.

I remember every man, woman and their dog hated the application. Now many PC gamers herald it as one of the greatest platforms, I bet Gabe is happy it is keeping him supplied with pies :p

I think the percentage / info problem is just something I have gotten used to, but I typically don't buy many games via Steam.

To be fair deadbeat, the game I've experienced trouble with on Steam is TQ and TQ:IT. Perhaps its with the content servers provided to Steam by the publisher that the problem lies?
