Hey guys

Not used Steam before and don;t play a huge amount of games but I purchased some small games from the Humble indie Bundle several months back and just got around to looking at them now and seen that they gave me a steam code to redeem all the games via Steam so I thought I might as well reddeem them in there so I can keep them with other games I wish to purchase.

If I wanted to move to a new computer.

What would be the easiest way to move my steam account including game files / updates / saved games / settings.

Just tell me the basics if possible.

Thanks

Neil

Copy over the steamapps folder in your Steam directory to a new install I believe.
You can also right click the games in your Steam and go to properties then back up all local files.

I usually just back up the whole steam directory then move it to a new harddrive. You can then reinstall steam and it installs over the top keeping all your games. However some games' save game data is kept elseware so beware of this, for example in the user/local or roaming folders.

Someone will come along and explain better but you can check that out now to see what I mean.
