When I try to start it up I get the message:

Running Steam in Windows compatibility mode is not recommended.
Please remove any Windows compatibility settings for all users
under file properties for Steam.exe and restart Steam.

What can I do to fix this? By the way I use Windows 7 64 bit if that helps.

I just did that and I'm getting the same message. Do I have to restart steam cos I restarted the computer but I don't know how to restart steam.

I had this message the other day all I done was reboot my pc and that sorted it. You could try reinstalling steam though you might have to backup the games you currently have downloaded Im not sure.
