Steam offline mode

Will steam offline mode keep working in offline mode for 2 weeks? I'm taking my pc on a holiday and would like to be able to play the odd audiosurf or Garry's mod or HL2 or counter strike condition zero with bots...
But I'll have no net... So if I switch to offline mode now, will it stay in offline mode after I reboot my pc, like 20 times ?

Yes, couldn't stand being at family without it, boring place with no internet, in the middle of nowhere ( farm ) and a lappy won't do any more, had it last year and ended up burning like 50 cd's ( it has no dvd player) all night before I left so I had enough to do.


Now at least I'll be able to make progress in all those sp games I haven't played :).
And be able to take my dvd's that are already burned instead of converting every dvd into 6 or 7 cd's...
 
Steam offline mode won't let me play Condition zero here :(:(, the only game that works is audiosurf but CS:CD and HL2 don't work :(:(.

Disappointed in steam :(.

Well I still have cs1.6 cracked luckily to play with bots while I'm away, don't have hl2 though and I should have downloaded it to play, i mean why on earth have they blocked sp games to play without an internet connection ?

Ohwell, just a week more at most without net on my pc ( internet cafe atm) then back to TF2 online :D.

Make sure you've told steam to 'remember your password' or whatever it is, on the login screen, or it will give that vague error.

All those games work in steam offline mode.

No they don't, I found Internet on my pc ( wlan that popped up yesterday unsecured) and in offline mode, there's no hl2 :


Same for CS: CZ , etcetc
 
I'm pretty sure I've played HL2 in offline mode before...

And we've had 50 people at our LAN parties playing CS:S in offline mode definitely.

(that was a nightmare the first time we tried to do it, I admit).
 
Did you run the game at least once before turning on offline mode?

If you didn't, that is why it isn't working.

For games to be available you need to have let steam validate and unlock the files and generate the game folder.

Once you have done that with all your games disable your internet connection, start steam in offline mode, and they should all be available to play.


3 requirements to play in offline mode:

1) Game downloaded 100%

2) Login name and password 'remember' check box ticked

3) Game run at least once while in Online mode
