Steam Problem

I'm using windows server 2003, and i can't seem to connect to the steam network, all i get is it trying to update, then error cannot connect to steam network.

Tried using it in xp compatibility mode, to no avail

any ideas?

There seems to be at the moment, but at the time the OP posted, it was fine.

delete clientregistry.blob file from steam directory and try again

I can't get on the store either. Which is a bit of a problem. Since I'm trying to buy a game for my brother to gift him for xmas

I'm hoping it's because they're sorting out some Christmas deals like last year, so you may even get the game cheaper for him

That'd be nice. Its would already be much cheaper than it would have been before they changed to pounds!
Last time I looked Left4Dead was around £25 on steam. Back when it was in dollars they wanted £40.....

deleting clientregistry.blob hasn't worked, and im still not getting anywhere, any ideas?
