** Steam: Railworks mega-bundle 66% off **

I'm wondering how accessible it is to novices, who aren't particularly into trains and just want to jump in and drive it, without learning a load of complicated stuff.

It a train on rails so what else would you need to do apart from move a lever for forwards, backwards & stop...

Quite a lot, from reading about it. Signals, points etc. as well as having to speed up / slow down at the right points for curves / gradients, to let other trains ahead of you etc.

Absolutely no interest for me, but there always seems to be a new £10 add on train or something every single week on Steam. Actually, it must be the most p*** taking game ever for DLC now I think about it.

Those train spotters (sorry, enthusiasts) must have a lot of disposable income.

You can get loads of paid for FSX add-on planes and scenery from places like theflightstore.co.uk.

I played MS Rail Sim and it wasn't too hard for novices, and was a bit of fun. Can't imagine this will be much different - you can probably scale up the difficulty. In MS Train Sim to go through points you just pressed spacebar before them to change them etc.
