Updated news from VALVe.

Steam Servers are currently in the process of being located to a different facility.

Approximately half of all accounts should now be functioning normally at this time. The remaining accounts will soon follow.

VALVe are working as quickly and as they can on this issue - there are obviously issues of resources/priority as basics such as essential services are taking priority in such a circumstance - as one would hope.

More news as it comes to hand.

We've just been informed that near full service had been restored.

Purchases have currently been disabled.

People with further issues should Contact VALVe Billing and Support.

I'm back in now, from what I hear, there was a massive solar flare that effected the whole of America. Knocked out power in seattle and has caused dormant volcanos to show signs of activity after the flare bumped the earth around on its axis.

I dont know how true this is or not... just read it on the ED forums, more detailed info here:

No it was a family of 5 who has eaten beans for the past 15 years, they farted for the first time and took out seattles power.
Many things were destroyed in the torrential gas flow, to the point where the workers at the energy company fainted.
With the hamster in its running wheel going down for the count it was only a matter of time before there was a power outage.
