steam special codes?

Just tried to login on laptop and I am told I need a special new code as its a different pc? I have not received any code?

WFT I just want to play my games I paid for ...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Should get emailed a code, if not should give you the choice to resend the code to your email you have sent up in Steam

Found it steam was telling me they had sent it to my GMAIL account, they hadn't it was sent to my Hotmail account which is ancient and Not been used in years.

sorry rant over but it was doing my head in.

User error frankly.

Steam can't send emails to addresses you haven't got listed in your account.

I have just changed it so it's not the account I was using 10 years+ ago when I resisted with steam (8 years ago now!)
thankfully I still had access!
iirc you just set that this PC is your and that you are validating it. then it doesn't ask again.

Yep. You'll only be asked again on that machine if you deactivate all in the settings.

It is not Steam's fault you have not kept your account contact information up to date.
