I'm getting loads of "friend" invites on Steam nowadays, typically from private profiles at Steam level zero. I presume it's some type of scam so I don't accept them but now I need to block them all because they keep trying again even after you ignore them. Anyone else getting this?

Also, do many 'normal' gamers have private profiles and is so, why? Why would you not want someone to see what games you play(unless you're a scammer etc.)?

They probably all bought something like aliens colonial marines and are really ashamed to show anybody that they paid more than a couple of quid :D

On a serious note have you ever bought keys of a site where they gift you the game?

No, never. Keys as in csgo or TF2 keys or keys for games? And what do you mean they gift you the game?

I think I'll just ignore and block anyone with a private profile from now on. It is unclear to me why someone would need a private profile on Steam, why would you not want people to see your gaming? (apart from your boss maybe!).

For the reasons you created this thread for.

You might have something in your inventory of note that they would like. You can set your inventory to friends only IIRC.
