Steam UI Update

Have to say this is a nice update I think , it seems a bit slower than then original for me but i think that is due to it has to load more gfx once they are loaded seems to fly :) I had to restart a download but it was at 75% anyhow 730KBPS not bad :)

Anyone fill me in what Steam Cloud is? :o

Basically server-side storing of game settings/options, saved games, stats, etc. The idea being wherever you log into Steam and play a game, your settings and saved games are available to you.

Okay - after using it now for about a week - I've decided I don't like the new UI update...

I hope we get the option to keep the original :p

Don't get all the fuss about the new UI myself. To me it's like people who upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 I guess, when all they do is boot up, double click on some icons, and then shut down :)

I couldn't careless about flashy graphics or the like, just want a nice simple friendly interface. And the one feature I (& others) have repeatedly asked for - notes/description field against friends - isn't in there, so I'm not very interested TBH...

All I do it start Steam, click on a couple of links/icons and begin a game... Don't care what background or whizzy whiz graphics are shown during that...

It'll probably be ready just in time for the launch of Episode 3.

Also, @Marky, mahoosive sig there. Just thought I'd warn you in case you're on the receiving end of some mod wrath.

Says he whose single permitted line (under the image) actually goes onto two lines :) (Make it a small font before you get suspended)

Anyway, until I see some actual functional benefit to the UI, I couldn't careless about it...

your monitor ress must be tiny!

well that's in FF and IE so i doubt a mod will do anything because opra/chrome display it weirdly :p

I'm using FF too...

Anyway, just thought I'd try and help out as the mods are quite black and white about it so you could end up with an X day ban and your sig removed.

Anyway, enough about sigs :) If you want to discuss it/examine it further I'd suggest a thread in the "Test" forum or the like.

Seems to fit on 1 line for me in FF, that's on my desktop PC 1360X768

On my MacBook using Safari however it squeezes the text onto two lines, that's 1280X800.

Seems okay in every browser bar Safari for me but thanks anyways for the heads up Neil.

Are you talking to me?
I've not edited my sig for months and it's within the guidelines =\

 but but but.... It was all big and pink and faintly Japanese looking earlier, I swear it was. Remember seeing the dimensions being 640x480....

Anyways. Back to the new Steam UI bashing/praising.

Yay, the games library has been updated so that it displays the games in groups now under headings, much better
