Steam under DDoS attack

So these idiots are not hackers, they just throw to much traffic at the servers or w/e. If they are so amateur as people say then shirley they can be tracked and butt slapped.

These utter wastes of life should just shift off this mortal coil quickly and save the oxygen they are stealing for someone that might be of use.

I hope they carry on, the more DDoSing they do for a prolonged period means they are more susceptible to being caught. It's only a matter of time.

"POLICE SEARCH WARRANT"
:)

would their isp see a lot of traffic from 1 place and block them or know who they are? surely they need to send data through the isp even if they use a proxy or something?

i don't know much about ddos :p

its very easily. Specially if there at school uni/college.
install piece of dormant software on multiple machines. let be activated remotely. From home flick a switch all the PC constantly send data to the server flooding it with requests, eventually slowing it down to a crawl or crashes. not relly hacking more stress testing :p:D
depending on the server infrastructure some services actually stay up whilst being ddosed.

tbh i wish ddosiung could be stopped, its just annoying for everyone users/businesses

i see the problem now, instead of doing it from home they could use the free wifi around town and a cheap 2nd hand smartphone to flick the switch? if they covered themselves at the school they would be untraceable :(

The attack itself might be...

But these morons are posting about it and attracting attention. Wouldn't take much for them to slip up and leave a trail elsewhere.

I thought that it was good to see that even when I could not access the market or even my own profile on steam, that I was still able to play my games.
