Argh you can't download and play at the same time without Alt+tabbing and restarting the bloody things... Again!?!? Why can't they just have a 'would you like to continue your download? yes/no' popup when you launch a game, why the hell do Valve think it's okay to screw 80% of the users over because the other 20% are completely retarded?

Steam previously would suspend downloads on launching a game, it was an annoying feature, why introduce it back
I never even realised they took this out!
Can you still alt-tab out of games to continue suspended downloads once your game is running though? That's what i used to do if i was playing something single player.
Love the changes they've made to the chat though, all i need them to do now is make a windows phone 8 app.....

They also apparently fixed the ghost window when you maximise the client on a secondary, smaller resolution screen in one of the previous updates from the last day (three updates in one day yesterday) but must have broken it again as it's back

For some reason, my STEAM is downloading a 7.2GB ARMA II update that I can't find anything out about, I think the whole ARMA II/OA/DayZ is only slightly bigger than 7.2GB..
My poor SSDs...
Opt into the Steam beta - apparently it has this issue resolved.
Yeah it's always struck me as odd that an application that downloads such massive amounts of data doesn't have any kind of speed limit facility.

delete everything in your steam folder except steam.exe and your steamapps folder and then let it redownload everything
Is that the solution then? My Steam still tries to look for updates now on startup, over a fortnight on...
