Steam updating - slow

Hi All,

just installng CS:S on my new machine, but my steam update is literally taking hours, currently on 78% going at 5kbps, although I'm on a 1mb connection.

Are there any ports i can open on the router or something to speed it up cos it's pi..... really annoying me.

Goto File then change user, then log out then back in again.

If that doesn't work, try deleting your clientregistry.blob in the Steam folder.

Steam always downloaded like a hog when i wanted to update, i re-installed CSS the other day, and was onlly getting like 70kbps on a 10mb connection!!! :eek:

You need to do like I said in my previous post. Don't ask me why, but it always sorts the download speeds out.
