Hi all just formatted me dads computer and forgot to pick up his copy of MW3.

He has his tied to STEAM and so is my copy.

Now I want to know if I can use my disk to install it on me dads pc providing I am logged into me dads STEAM account.

Will this cause a problem? and get me banned?.

EDIT

I will put the reason down even though it must be obvious

To install it VIA internet would take me ages and its faster from disk.

Thanks

It will be fine as far as I know - he has a registered key so it's just using the disc as a resource for the files.

If he hadn't bought the game and used your disk it wouldnt activate anyway without a key - so no issues that I can think of

It'll be fine. I've "pre-loaded" games a few times by logging into my friends' account (with their permission of course). I did it with Left for Dead 2, I was going out to buy it in a fw days so I downloaded it on my PC using his account so the game files were there ready for me to register my serial with Steam, after I did it was ready to play.

Great thanks all will get it installed for him then as he wants to test his new rig out as soon as he gets it and I thought it would save him some game time :)

Copy the your game folder from
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\
(or where ever your steam is installed to:))

Steam will do the rest. I've even used game files sourced from elsewhere and steam recognised a good 60% of the files and downloaded the rest. Saved re-downloading a good 5gb doing that.
