Steamed up windows?

Well the reason it steams up is because there is nowhere for the moisture to escape. Letting outside air in does that, as would opening the window slightly.

I don't have a fancy-dan windscreen clear button :( but the sun visor says to make sure outside air can get in, get the heat blasting at the window. The heat evaporates the water and the moisture can escape.

It seems logical to me but a could be wrong I guess.

You sure? My climate turns the recirc off when that special buttin is depressed.

Also, it advised in he manual that if the outside temp is lower than 4 degrees not to use the recirc as the air conditioning compressor doesn't work at that temperature. It advises that doing so will cause the windows to mist.

Turn fans on full belt and aim all air on windscreen. Leave for a minute and screen will clear. Thats what i do almost every morning.

My car does this sometimes, I usually just turn on windscreen blowers and open windows.

I saw this ad for a product (think it was QVC) that they sprayed onto a sheet of glass. Then blew hot air on that sheet and a normal untreated sheet and the one that was coated didnt steam up. Seemed like a good idea, but Im skeptical about how useful it would be in an out of studio situation...

Check around your windscreen / bonnet / wiper motor that the drains are not blocked up with leaves or general crud and any stagnant water is getting drawn in through the heater intakes.

Other than that try and get as many air changes , windows down on a cold chilly day and heater full on to dehum the interior.

Vinegar and newspaper clean all glass surfaces, and try that antifog spray ( apply very small amounts )

If you have aircon set aircon on, temperature to warm, recirculate to on this will dry the air and warm it so removing moisture from the windows very quickly.

If you don't have aircon and you have misty windows clear as much the windows to make driving safe & drive around with the heat on full and the fan set to half or three quarter power leave the drivers window open about and inch or two until the car is fully clear.

After the windows have been cleared, when driving set the temperature to three quarters and fan to low, and keep the window open about and inch and your car should stay clear.

Thats because air con dries the air, if your letting fresh air back in it will be more damp.

So if you have aircon the best way to get rid of moisture is to recirculate and heat the air as this will dry the car out.
