Steamworks & Steam cloud

Valve has announced Steamcloud. A new system for storing player data, from save games to keyboard configurations, on Steam is a brilliant idea. Your games are now available on any PC, and you can play exactly where you left off, without having to invert the mouse and disassemble your friend’s lunatic configuration.

Great idea and Im glad Steam have come up with it first as it means it should be ran properly! Definitely help LANs as I know when I used to go it annoyed me having to set everything up again. I wonder if you'll be able to share your configs and save games, might be a useful feature!

It's a good idea, as you said definitely for LAN events etc.

Would be good for re-installs as well

Rather than having to worry if you had your save games backed up...they already are!
