Would there be any potential problems from permanently running around on 3 alloys and one steel wheel?
(1 alloy one steel on the FWD wheels)

As I have been doing this for about 6 months now.

And there is a slight pull, but I'm not sure if it's down to the wheel or the tyre (which is probably now illeagally worn :(

Any body recommend a place to buy steel wheels for a xantia?

As long as the wheels are the same diameter/offset and the tyres are the same width/profile then aside from looking like a ***** it won't cause any problems.

Scrappy. Egay. Local free ads paper.

If there is a huge weight difference between the wheels it might cause problems long term, so I'd try and get hold of either 1 more alloy or 3 more steelies :)

Only asked as i sold a xantia with 3 alloys a while back, it seemed to drive absolutely fine and had been like that for 50k miles or more

Quite often the case!

Yes, the alloys are almost certainly heavier than the steel. But this weight difference shouldn't really matter...?

Should I move it to the rear wheel and keep a balanced front end?
