Hey guys,

Was talking to a colleague who said you can get steel wrist supports. Basically, I need the best wrist support possible - I saved a shot in goal whilst playing football around 4 years ago and bent all my cartilages out of place. Means I can't really do press ups or anything that puts weight directly on my wrist.

I appreciate any help..

Thanks,

Anthony

Hola!

I'm going to ask a question that you might think is silly, never stopped me before.

Have you tried doing wrist exercise? Like, I have no idea, a power ball or something to build up the strength in the wrist? Is this a problem that just isn't going to get better on it's own?

Yup, have tried that after seeing 3 physios. Have also been to see a consultant who just injected me with cortisone :/

That doesn't sound good.

What is the actual problem? I had something not too dissimilar when I shattered my ulna an inch from the wrist (car accident), and the physio (both of them) told me to get back in the gym and sort my **** out. Lots of rows, light wrist curlz (oh, yes) and band work.

But then, I am lucky enough to have physios that understand what I want from sport. :) I suspect the resolution to your problem may lie in a similar course of action, but that is a layman talking.

Regarding wrist braces,, are you looking to prevent or support movement?
