Completed a new build last week (1st one in some years).
Naturally the darn thing would not boot.
Learned that the mobo code 'C1' meant that there is a problem with the RAM.
Learned to play moving RAM sticks into different sockets, and eventually the pc booted up with only one stick of two installed. Learned that maybe 1 stick of RAM is possibly duff, or if it's actually OK, then maybe the mobo has a problem...Jury still out...
Learned how to RMA...
Learned that Vista 64 does not easily partition a 1 TB drive...jury still out...
Learned that a new case with a new mobo and a new modular PSU can take some cable management...
Learned that Vista 64 is a completely different animal to XP...
Learned that the stock cooler for my cpu is unbelievably LOUD...
Learned that I've got a lot to learn about CPUs, Mobos, Graphics cards, RAM etc...and...
I haven't started to learn about overclocking yet!!
