hi guys...

i see a lot of threads on here about full racing rigs but does anyone know of a simple frame that can be folded up and stowed somewhere, that also sports a nice little holder for the G25 gearshift?

cheers :)

(by the way, the atomic racing seat thingamijig which kinda looked like what i was after is not available anymore acording to their uk supplier...)

there HAS to be a decent solution that doesn't involve having a bucket seat slapped in your lounge...

hmmm... ironing board... had a go and not really feeling it...

decided to make a small table:

length: 600mm
height: 550mm
depth: 250mm

my question is to anyone who has a home made solution, do you think 25cm as the depth will give enough forward/back stability?

(that depth was chosen as it could fit behind the door when not in use...)

the other dimensions are perfect, just need to decide if the depth will cut it...

Think your missing part of the point regards a seat/frame.
Yes it can be a pain in the backside dismantling etc however....

Its all about comfort and being able to concentrate without distraction that allows you to enjoy the racing games. On a good racing frame you could sit for 3 or more hours with no major aches, thats what you need to achieve.

If you arnt comfortable and eventually find your giving yourself a bad back this will put you off using just a table of sorts so you still wont benifit.

Look into ebay for proper bucket seats from as little as about £60 and consider your own d.i.y frame thingy that will allow easy dismantling and using the seat as a chair on its own perhaps?
totally appreciate what you're saying, but we just don't have the space for a full setup like that...

saying that, the chair i use (a camping/fishing chair) is perfectly comfortable and have played many hours on this setup:

however, now that i have a G25 it wont attach to that piano stool you see there (as the grips dont go far enough under the lip) so i need a replacement for that part...
