Had to climb a steep hill today which had steps for access. Took a few minutes to climb. I haven't felt that exhausted both muscularly and cardio for a long time. Here's an article explaining it.

So i was thinking of solely doing this step training for a few weeks to build cardio.

Partly as it saves time. What do you think, is this a good strategy to build up cardio?

Loads of people use the Stairmaster at my gym - if you enjoy it then you're likely to adhere to it better than a form of cardio you don't enjoy - there's no one 'best' form of cardio, it just comes down to what you like doing, current physical condition (something high impact like jogging isn't going to be the best choice for someone very large) and to a small extent proportions/what you're bio-mechanically suited to doing.
